New to Theatres This Weekend: Water for Elephants, African Cats, The Greatest Movie Ever Sold

It’s not a particularly exciting Easter weekend at the multiplex with wide releases that include a Francis Lawrence-directed circus drama starring Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon (Water for Elephants), another Earth Week DisneyNature documentary (African Cats), and Tyler Perry’s latest film (Madea’s Big Happy Family). I don’t expect any of these to knock Rio from its perch, but on the bright side, there are a few interesting things in select theatres. If you live in a major market you should be able to see Morgan Spurlock’s latest shock doc The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, Jim Mickle’s post-apocalyptic vampire flick Stake Land, or Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen starring Donnie Yen. Will you be watching anything this weekend?

I love DisneyNature’s Documentary. So it’s African Cats for me. I liked Earth but i loved Oceans.
    Look foward to it

  • Perhaps Scream 4 could of faired better if it opened this weekend, instead of last week where it had to fight of Rio.

ridelight, i think the reason they didn’t release Scream 4 this weekend was that four years ago on Easter weekend Grindhouse “bombed”

Buns ermm…I mean water for elephants, although I’m sure that they would prefer the former.
