Captain America Trailer Sneak Peek Footage

I’m not usually very keen on posting trailers for trailers, but I suppose I’ll make an exception for Captain America: The First Avenger. The first full theatrical trailer is expected to debut sometime later tonight, but yesterday Entertainment Tonight aired a short preview. There isn’t a lot to see here, but we do have our first look at Tommy Lee Jones in the film as Colonel Phillips. Plus… Chris Evans throwing a shield? That’s all you really needed to see anyway, right?

Check out the sneak peek after the jump and feel free to pick it apart as we await the release of the real deal.

I still thinks this movie out of all the comic movies coming out this summer, has the look of a blockbuster. That’s only a guess but so far I like what I see.

Green Lantern has been a disappointment so far and the more I see of Thor the more I am not sure about it.

But I like Johnston’s look and feel for CA…I really think he got it right.

I’m getting sick of superhero movies in general, but I was looking forward to this and XMen: First Class. Now I’m rapidly losing interest in Captain America. I wish I had only seen the Super Bowl TV spot and the poster (which is one of the better movie posters I’ve ever seen).

I feel as if I am the only one that thinks this film will be terrible. Joe Johnston’s track record isn’t good. Chris Evans, as much as I like him in other stuff, just hasn’t quite captured me as Captain America, aside from his obviously steroided physique (Congrats to him on that, btw). Sure the overall footage “looks” good. And Red Skull “looks” good. But I was never concerned about the overall visual quality of the film, but the story telling quality. I’ve heard several people complain that Iron man 2 felt more like a prequel to The Avengers than an Iron man film; Captain America seems to literally be just that, a prequel to The Avengers and I can’t imagine it working out any better here.

I think Thor will get it right. The trailers keep getting better and better, and the word is that it’s very much a self contained Thor story. The movie is about Thor. It’s not about cramming in as much Avengers crap as possible.

1138sw commented about the Green Lantern and I’m really pulling for that film but it seems to have all but disappeared lately. We got a short spurt of photos and a trailer but then it all kinda stopped. I never saw the trailer in theaters, only online. I feel WB needs to start promoting the hell out of GL. I really hope it turns out to be a really good movie and I hope it turns out to be a successful film.

Sorry that ‘Biggles’ type helmut that he has on just looks ridiculous.

Trailers are okay, for what they are, but a trailer is 1 or 2 minutes out of a sometimes 120 minute movie, so while I think some things can be gleamed from trailers, I also think that a movie should be viewed, BEFORE, it gets trashed.

Initially I had serious doubts about this movie that I dared to post at another website and got ripped for daring to speak my mind, but I honestly believe that they are making an effort to make this a decent film. Evans is going make or break this film with his acting and that’s the bottom line. I don’t think he’s the best actor in the world but there is a lot on the line for him.

This is a multi-picture deal with several million dollars at stake, for him, personally, not to mention his reputation, so I think he is probably going to do his best to make sure that this is at least decent, if not great.

Plus, yes, if this sucks, then the Avengers movie is going to suffer as a consequence and I am pretty sure Marvel won’t let that happen, there’s just too much money at stake. If Fox was handling this movie I would be super apprehensive, but this is a Marvel movie being made by Marvel, so I’m going to wait and see how it turns out.

just saw the full length trailer and I wasn’t impressed. The look and sound of Wimpy Steve Rogers made me cringe.
