Poor Megan Fox. She seemingly went from the hottest thing in Hollywood to washed up starlet overnight, thanks in large part to Michael Bay’s decision to oust her from the third Transformers movie in favour of Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. It wasn’t just that, however; her last few movies have been pretty awful, including Jennifer’s Body (bomb), Jonah Hex (bomb) and Passion Play (the laughing stock of last year’s TIFF). She has obviously been making some unfortunate career decisions, and her on-screen performances have not been able to overcome all the tabloid B.S. she’s been saddled with. But just when you thought Megan Fox’s career was all but dead, along comes Judd Apatow to give her a second chance.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Megan Fox is in final negotations for a major role in Judd Apatow’s next flick, the previously announced Knocked Up spin-off. It’s unclear what exactly her role will be, but it won’t be her first time acting in a comedy. In addition to Jennifer’s Body, she previously starred in How to Lose Friends & Alienate People and she is also appearing in the upcoming Jennifer Westfeldt comedy Friends with Kids with Jon Hamm and Kristen Wiig.
I actually think comedy is something she could potentially excel at, and Judd Apatow generally knows how to get the best out of people. Still, I can see this news turning a lot of people off just based on a gut reaction. What do you think, is this a good or bad casting choice? And could it get people to care about Megan Fox again?
