Weekly Poll Results: Best Liam Neeson Movie

Well, based on all the awards and critical acclaim, it’s hard to argue with Schindler’s List as being Liam Neeson’s greatest achievement as an actor to date, although he didn’t win the Oscar for it himself. I did kind of expect some of his popcorn flicks to get a little more love in last week’s poll, but in the end, Spielberg’s masterpiece took a commanding 42% of the votes, with Taken coming in second with half as many. Batman Begins and Darkman were both neck in neck for 3rd and 4th place respectively, followed by Rob Roy. Surprisingly, Star Wars: Episode I did not end up in dead last. Go figure.

1. Schindler’s List — 42.3%
2. Taken — 21.6%
3. Batman Begins — 9.4%
4. Darkman — 9.2%
5. Rob Roy — 5.1%
6. Krull — 4.3%
7. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace — 3.5%
8. Husbands and Wives — 1.9%
9. Michael Collins — 1.3%
9. Kinsey — 1.3%

Someone please explain to me why Taken is so great? it has a lot of bad acting. The plot is predictable…it’s just a Nicolas Cage movie with Liam Neeson instead.

This is a mystery for me aswell! Didn’t like Taken at all.

I enjoyed Taken for what it is but its not a great movie, just entertaining.

Taken was completely awesome in what it set out to be, a revenge flick. It’s fast-paced, with a sympathetic lead who also kicks all kinds of ass.

You completely identify with Neeson with the set up at the start, and then you get to live vicariously through him as an ass-kicker for the last two-thirds of the movie. In my opinion, Taken doesn’t get *enough* love.

Also another bonus (for me): the runtime. Really ups the rewatchibility for me when you don’t have to commit 2+ hours to see a movie, especially an action one. More movies need to commit to a 100-minute runtime to tighten up the pacing.

  • No “Nell”? what the eff, man…

  • Less Lee Moore

He is so awesome in Michael Collins!!!
