I’d love to hear what you guys think about Fish Tank on a future episode. I watched it recently and thought it was fairly awful… aside from the somewhat novel view into a facet of England I’d never been privy to.

  • I thought Fish Tank was awesome. It definitely pushes buttons but the characters all felt pretty real to me.

Fish Tank also is available to stream on Netflix as of today. I’ll be checking it out and deciding if it’s a buy for me.

I thought Fish Tank was awesome too.

    CLEARLY I’M RETARDED.

It’s not that it wasn’t a technically proficient film with technically proficient performances… I just got nothing out of the story and thought almost all of the characters were reprehensible.

And there is shit in it that doesn’t make sense, like the people who see Mia’s tape and still invite her to audition… what the fuck were they expecting? It was bizarre and unbelievable.

Basically it falls into the category of “watched it once, never need to see it again” for me.

  • The movie definitely has a way of giving you hope and then pulling it out from under your feet.

  • Fish Tank was pretty good I thought too. Well worth the watch on Netflix.

I really enjoyed Fish Tank as well but I’m pretty gay for Fassbender so maybe I watched it through man-crush tinted glasses.

BTW, The two Mesrine films aren’t about a serial killer. Their true crime stories about the most notorious french criminal. He was on the run for a good many years and even manned a crazy escape from a prison in Quebec where after he got away he and another dude returned to break out some fellow inmates. Roy Dupuis is in it as well as Gerard Depardieu. They’re really great and I recommend everyone check them out. Cassell get’s a bad wrap because of his American performances but in his native tongue he’s a bad motherfucker.
