This Week on DVD: The Expendables, I’m Still Here, The Complete Metropolis

Every one of us is expendable-ah! Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system. Anyway, as you can see, a line has clearly been drawn this week with the two biggest releases, The Expendables and Eat Pray Love, catering very heavily to male and female demographics respectively. Other noteworthy new discs include The Winning Season starring Sam Rockwell, Rob Reiner’s Flipped, Joaquin Phoenix mock doc I’m Still Here, and, from the visionary director of Catwoman, Fire And Ice: The Dragon Chronicles! If that’s not enough to keep you occupied, we’ve also got the nuclear arms documentary Countdown to Zero, the newly restored cut of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, and pretty much all of Tyler Perry’s complete filmography on Blu-ray! What will you be buying or renting this week?

Also, Exit Through the Gift Shop is out in Canada.

Does anyone know if the special edition of Exit Through The Gift Shop is available at Best Buy/Future Shop?

  • I believe the special edition is only the American release on Oscilloscope, which isn’t out until Dec. 14th. The Canadian release is barebones from what I saw. However, we have a giveaway I’m about to post that you might be interested in…

That contest is great but I am not eligible unfortunately. On amazon.ca there is a special edition listed as being put out by Mongrel Media. I haven’t seen it in stores though. From what I have read it has the same extras as the O-Scope release. With the $29 price tag and having to wait a week to get it I think I will hold off and get the US release.
