Now Bill Clinton Joins The Hangover 2

The cameos just keep rolling in for The Hangover 2. It’s now being reported that Bill Clinton – yes that Bill Clinton – recently filmed a small cameo as himself for the sequel. The former president was in Bangkok giving a speech on clean energy and took some time out to spend on the production. This news comes less than a week after we learned that Paul Giamatti would join the cast for an unspecified part. Of course, we also know that Liam Neeson has a cameo as a tattoo artist that was once lined up for Mel Gibson. At this point I think I’ve heard more about the cameos for The Hangover 2 than about the film itself. Whether that bodes well for the film or not, I can’t really say at the moment. Now I’m just wondering if we’ll hear about any other celebrities being recruited for the film by the end of this week!

Casting a former president in a narrative film seems like a pretty big coup for the production and I can’t think of another time it’s happened. Perhaps the closest approximation I’ve seen is John McCain’s cameo in Wedding Crashers or more recently Arnold’s role in The Expendables. I’m sure there are other similar situations, but those are the two I thought of off the top of my head. What do you think of The Hangover 2‘s latest casting? What are some other examples of high-ranking politicians in film?

is he going to be getting a bj at the end credits?

  • I wish they’d stop putting this information out there. I’d much rather be surprised by these cameos then know about them a year in advance. I don’t think these people really understand what a ‘surprise’ cameo is, and to be honest, it’s making me loose interest in the movie.

I agree with slushie man. It would be really fun if we’d just get surprised with the cameos.

  • McCain was on 24 also for a second !!

Isn’t the whole point of cameos is so we can go in not execting them and have a pleasant surprise?

The whole Mel Gibson shitstorm has now eclipsed the hype for the actual movie. Liam Neeson’s ‘cameo’ will be completely anticlimatic.

It’s like the Robin Hood Sean Connery cameo as Richard The Lionheart which was supposed to be a surprise at the end, but everyone heard about it before so it was just a complete letdown.
