I watched “The Girl Who Played With Fire” last night, and…

“As for the Dragon Tattoo films, I definitely agree the second film was weaker and I think it was in large part due to the fact the Lisbeth and Blomkvist were barely on screen together.”

This. Lisbeth can hold her own but Blomkvist needs her around to be an interesting character.

I havent read the books my girlfriend did. And she was busting my balls all the time about how superior the books were..
I think this whole dragon tatto franchise is a lot similar to twilight, a combination of Harlequin sex stories with a bit of action and.. voila.. you got a “best selling” book..
    TO be honest..
I only saw the first movie and I thought it was a mess..

But I can see why you liked it goon..

You are obviously a Repressed Homosexual..

I’m with Sean on The Signal. The tonal shifts just ended up losing me. The second segment almost came off like sketch comedy material and it fell flat for me, personally. It’s an interesting experiment, but in the end it didn’t do much for me.

saw the final “Girl…” movie… it was pretty meh, and Lisbeth is barely in it. She is easily the most interesting thing in this series. it was a 2.5/5 or so from me, better than “Fire” but not by much

Well that stinks Goon. It’s opening here on Friday and we were planning to see it Saturday. Ah well, maybe going in with lowered expectations is a good thing.

  • Yeah I’m really looking forward to part 3 (tomorrow!). But I’m one who really REALLY like #1 (in my top ten of 2010 I’m sure) and thought part 2 was great too.

  • Just wanted to add that I noticed the horrible stuttering in that same slow pan in Red as well. I was also viewing a digital projection.

Pretty late listening to this podcast, but just thought I’d comment that the Crocodile Dundee speech is definately one of my favorite film junk moments, up there with the Transformers 2 review. This was a kick-ass episode.
