Movie Poster Round-Up: Tron: Legacy, The Green Hornet, The Fighter

It’s been at least a few weeks since our last poster round-up, which means we’ve got plenty of new poster artwork to look at for some upcoming films. This week we have the first teaser posters for both The Coen Brothers’ True Grit and Seth Rogen’s The Green Hornet, along with the final one-sheet for Tron: Legacy, and a small sampling of the multitude of new posters for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. We’ve also got a pair of posters for Tony Scott’s Unstoppable, a creative Obama-inspired poster for Megamind, and a Tyler Stout limited edition quad for Let The Right One In.

The most striking pieces of the bunch, however, have got to be the four international posters for Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan. Either that or Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (I kid!). Which posters are your favourites? Which ones just absolutely… uh… suck? Check out the full gallery after the jump.

Upcoming? Philip Morris isn’t upcoming, neither is salt. And the last poster is of the original, not the remake.

  • GfC

    I mean, *neither is Machete.

Who is Noone and why should I trust him? The Black Swan ones are amazing. The MegaMind and Let the Right One In are clever and cool. The ones for The Tourist, Justin Bieber, and Unstoppable are just plain-ass boring. The rest a mediocre.

It’s a poster round-up cut him some slack. I have to admit that I groaned a bit when I heard the Coen’s were doing “True Grit” but I am on board now. I even liked “Wild Bill” which no one liked. Is T Scott really going to be doing another train movie?

  • Liking the Harry Potter ones tbh, though they are fairly o_0 considering what it is they’re advertising.

The Tron: Legacy poster has nothing on the original.

Why can’t more posters look like the black swan ones? Those are actual works of art. Not to mention eye catching since they look so different from the usual movie poster. But of course, we don’t get them in Canada. Lucky Europeans….

The first Unstoppable one is Ridiculous!

You mean East-European vintage kind of posters? The Soviet propaganda style? I love them too myself, and would want them to make more of those kind of poster. I myself like everything vintage, i would also love for them to go back to the style of the70’s 80’s, and 20’s-50’s in movie posters.

    @ Mactavian

There are places designing and printing these art prints. It’s a very deliberate style, a homage to old-timey Polish posters that were usually extremely abstract and gave little in the way of story.

Most of the posters are fairly blah.

-Lol at “Drive Angry”. In fact, I find every movie that has Nic Cage playing a young action star hilarious. The guy is in his 40s, very much looks that way, his hairline’s reached the danger zone, yet he’s still cast in these things

    -Tron Legacy’s fantastic.

As much as I don’t think Green Hornet isn’t going to work out, the poster looks badass.

Unstoppable the seccond one looks cool too.
