Trailer: The King’s Speech

The trailer for The King’s Speech has debuted recently and with all the awards buzz surrounding the film, it’s certainly worth a look. The film follows the real-life tale of King George VI who reluctantly took the throne after his brother abdicated. However, George’s stammering proved problematic for someone who was required to make public speeches. The film chronicles his attempts to beat his stammer with the help of a speech therapists; all happening as the start of World War II approaches. The buzz on the film is huge right now and it’s easy to see why. It definately falls into the Oscar-bait category, which I know can irritate some people, but this is one that I’m looking forward to. The cast, which includes Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, and Geoffery Rush, looks solid and the story kind of intrigues me. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of this one come Oscar time, but for now check out the trailer after the jump.

  • Maopheus

If that was supposed to be Winston Churchill, that was the worst Churchill ever.

  • I wonder if this will show the Royals and their aristo cronies cosying up to the Nazis?
