Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter Trailer

Clint Eastwood has really been cranking out movies over the past decade, and although I admire his passion and drive (particularly now that he’s 80 years old!), I do have to wonder if it is starting to affect the quality of his output. His latest film, Hereafter, is playing at TIFF this year, but I’ve heard barely a word about it. Strange, especially considering that it stars Matt Damon and Bryce Dallas Howard. With one public screening planned at the festival, it has some people wondering if Warner Brothers are trying to keep it hidden for some reason.
The movie is a bit different than what we’re used to getting from Clint, in that it is a supernatural thriller. Damon plays a psychic who is trying to forget his ability to communicate with the dead, while Cécile de France plays a woman who is almost killed by a tsunami that hits a beachside resort. The first trailer has arrived online and it doesn’t give much away, but there is definitely the feeling that this is something in the vein of The Sixth Sense. The potential for cheese seems pretty high, but the script was written by Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon). Hereafter hits theatres on October 22nd; check out the trailer after the jump or watch it in HD over at Apple.com.
