I really enjoyed this review, insightful and informative, the kind of detailed editorial that I strive for with my own work. This was every bit a 'signature' Polanski film and personal legal matters aside, is a very notable addition to his repertoire. The performances are nuanced, specific and engaging and dare I say some of the best we've seen recently from McGregor, Belushi and Hutton. Of course it was fun seeing Eli Wallach here and I'm always impressed with Tom Wilkinson (if you haven't seen In The Bedroom, you should). Pierce Brosnan delivers a cool and calculative performance as well.

Again, a solid review for a movie that should be attracting more attention for the production than the director's personal legal matters but hey, that's the biz.

cheers->

Just watched this movie last night and absolutely loved it. If I had a movie to watch like this (well-acted, well-directed, atmospheric, intriguing), well, lets just say I would enjoy those two hours each day very much!

Very fun, classic thriller. I really enjoyed the film and actualyl ended up seeing it twice in the theatre. It certainly has issues, but for what it is I think it's awesome.

What's up with the mumbling? I've noticed this type of thing happening more and more in recent films. Dialogue getting lost in the sound due not entirely to the mix but also due to the actor's performance. Ken Watanabe in Inception is another perfect example. I know his accent is thick but the way that combined with the sound mix made a lot of his dialogue nearly incomprehensible.
