Monday Morning Box Office Report: Pixar Toys with Grown Ups

No big surprise, but Toy Story 3 topped the box office for the second weekend in a row, adding another $59 million to Disney’s coffers even with a 47 percent drop from its opening. Adam Sandler also continued to prove himself a consistent draw as he bounced back from last year’s Funny People with a $41 million debut for Grown Ups in spite of the terrible reviews. Tom Cruise was not so lucky, however, as Knight & Day earned just over $20 million — not a complete disaster, but definitely weak for Cruise and far from the blockbuster that Fox was hoping for. Meanwhile The Karate Kid and The A-Team rounded out the top 5 as Jonah Hex nearly managed to drop right out of the top 10 in just its second weekend.
