David Fincher’s The Social Network Teaser Trailer

Alright now don’t get too excited, but the first teaser trailer for David Fincher’s Facebook movie The Social Network has just hit the web. It doesn’t show any actual footage from the film, but it does go hand in hand with the first poster that was released earlier in the week. Visually, the teaser looks a bit odd, almost like it could be a fan-made video, but it does do a good job of getting across the idea of the film being a portrait of a brilliant yet controversial kid. I’ll be curious to see how this plays in theatres with an unsuspecting audience.

Having read the book that the movie is loosely based on, I’m confident that there is a pretty intriguing story here, and of course, the fact that Aaron Sorkin wrote the script should give it even more depth. Plus David Fincher is directing it and this is a very different movie for him. Add in a cast that includes Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones, and Justin Timberlake, and how can you not be at least a little bit intrigued? The Social Network hits theatres on October 1st; check out the teaser after the jump.

  • He’s totally Zuckerberg.

I think Jesse Eisenberg is awesome, and Justin Timberlake was great in Black Snake Moan so this should be awesome. I really enjoyed Charlie Wilson’s War, which I believe is the last movie Aaron Sorkin wrote. Definitely excited.

  • I’m there.

I never thought a movie about Facebook could feel so much like a Fincher film, but I think that teaser proves me wrong.

Speaking of Facebook where is that facebook widget on the sidebar?

It was nice seeing my face popping out here and there..

these internet guru films feel more like TV movies than films…whats so interesting about nerds drawing venture capitalist, really?! ITS NOT LIKE ANYONE DIES LIKE THERE WILL BE BLOOD!!

  • Steve

Jesse Eisenberg isn’t awesome. He’s just a poor man’s Michael Cera. Everytime I see him he pulls the same shtick each time: An unpopular, awkward, sensitive soul in a coming-of-age tale where he winds up with the local hottie who’s way out of his league. And he’s 26.

  • Napalm

i’ve been sold on this since the day the news of the movie broke!

  • Me

Jesse Eisenberg isnt a poor mans Michael Cera he’s a better actor than Cera. By the sounds of this he may be stepping it up a little for this role.

Steve apparently needs to see Rodger Dodger.

  • The teaser really looks a bit odd. Well I think this film sounds interesting and I feel so excited to watch the movie.

  • This is the most exciting movie coming out this year (aside from Tron Legacy obvi)

  • Captain N

I’m more interested in seeing this then I am anything else Fincher has done. Apparently I am one of the few people (If only people) that doesn’t care for his films. I really found the “emotional” masterpiece of Button to fall completely flat and came off as artificial in its attempt to make the audience turn on the water works.

    Looks awesome
