David Fincher’s The Social Network Teaser Trailer

Alright now don’t get too excited, but the first teaser trailer for David Fincher’s Facebook movie The Social Network has just hit the web. It doesn’t show any actual footage from the film, but it does go hand in hand with the first poster that was released earlier in the week. Visually, the teaser looks a bit odd, almost like it could be a fan-made video, but it does do a good job of getting across the idea of the film being a portrait of a brilliant yet controversial kid. I’ll be curious to see how this plays in theatres with an unsuspecting audience.
Having read the book that the movie is loosely based on, I’m confident that there is a pretty intriguing story here, and of course, the fact that Aaron Sorkin wrote the script should give it even more depth. Plus David Fincher is directing it and this is a very different movie for him. Add in a cast that includes Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones, and Justin Timberlake, and how can you not be at least a little bit intrigued? The Social Network hits theatres on October 1st; check out the teaser after the jump.
