Movie Poster Round-Up: Buried, Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere, Resident Evil: Afterlife

We’ve got plenty of new posters that have been released over the past couple of weeks, some of which are advertising big summer movies that have their campaigns in full swing, while others are for movies that are a just little farther off. This new poster for Buried starring Ryan Reynolds is pretty eye-catching and done up in the style of the late Saul Bass, while the latest poster for The Expendables continues to boast about its stacked cast of action stars. There’s a World Cup-themed international poster for Sex and the City 2, plus a series of banners for Christopher Nolan’s Inception and an awesome UK quad for Todd Solondz’ Life During Wartime.

The poster that seems to be getting the most attention this week is not for a movie at all, but rather the Star Trek episode “Space Seed”. This is the first in a series of Trek posters coming from Mondo. There’s also a new poster for Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere that seems to be an early promo one sheet, and a whole series of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World character posters showing off each of Ramona’s seven evil ex-boyfriends. Which one of these posters is your favourite? Check out the full gallery after the jump.

    love the poster for ‘buried’

  • Ian

That Star Trek poster is awesome. I don’t even really like Trek that much but that poster is really cool.

  • Second great poster for Buried.

  • Theman

This is a really good Crop of posters I must say, Besides Sex and the City 2 and Mastermind that is.

what on earth is wrong with Angelina Jolie’s face?

  • I like the retro look of the Joan Rivers and Love Ranch posters. Prefer the UK version of Killer Inside Me. Psyched for Somewhere. Inception and Scott Pilgrim ones are ugly. The Saul Bass ‘homage’ that is Buried isn’t bad, but more could’ve been done with it I feel.

The killer inside me looks great, jessica alba also looks great. LOL

    Vertigo poster anyone?

  • The marketing for Inception is just… jsut brilliant.

  • Antho42

The Dog Tooth poster looks brilliant.

  • AlexG

Lovin the Inception ones as well, particularly the first and last in order, just an awe-inspiring array of visuals

  • MGL

I agree with comment nr. 2 but that dogtooth poster looks ugly.

  • Kurt

Also loving the DOGTOOTH poster. Reminiscent of the FUNNYGAMES poster with Naomi Watts, and I expect the film to be in similar ‘lizard brain’ territory as most of Haneke’s pics.
