2010 MTV Movie Award Winners

I’m sure most you were watching the MTV Movie Awards last night, but just in case you missed this prestigious event, here’s a quick recap for you: The Twilight Saga: New Moon won pretty much everything. Yes, there weren’t many surprises, except for the fact that Anna Kendrick won “Best Breakout Star” for her performance in Up In The Air and Rain won “Biggest Badass”. Go figure.

There was one other surprise though: Ken Jeong apparently got choked up on stage while accepting the award for “Best WTF Moment”. This, after he appeared on stage with Ed Helms to do interpretive dance to his song from The Hangover. In an unexpectedly emotional speech, he thanked Todd Phillips and Bradley Cooper for supporting him during the shooting of The Hangover while his wife was being treated for breast cancer. This may have been the first genuine moment ever seen during the MTV Movie Awards. In general, we all know the Golden Popcorn doesn’t amount to much, but hey, it’s the award show you just love to hate. Scoff at the full list of nominees and winners from the 2010 MTV Movie Awards after the jump.

  • I think, for some reason, it’s a MTV requirement that Ben Stiller get nominated for something every year at this thing.

  • Goon

Looking at the winners I think I understand why I general try to avoid complaining too much about the Oscar nominees. Oy.

  • James Cameron has to be so pissed, he didn’t even win MTV best movie. haha. Suck on that Cameron.

  • who would watch that sh*t when the BLACKHAWKS were going up 3 games to 2 and Kobe was getting schooled by Mr. Ray Allen!!! take that Greg

  • R.A.J.

this is stupid i mean everything that has to do with new moon wins. wtf!?

  • Eli B

I’ll never understand the popularity of anything related to the Twilight series. Looking across the other possibilities, at the very least I can figure the ideas behind them that people grab onto. Visual work, a couple fun ideas or at the very least a strong cast. New Moon has none of these things, or a coherent story, or anything visually or mentally interesting. It may seem odd to toss the whole thing off all to the younger generation when I’m personally only so many years over them but just for comfort sake I’ll take whatever gap I can find between myself and that ever flowing river of bastard offspring.

  • Ultimo

Just watched the hormone awards for some reason. An ungodly 2 hours of terrible, unfunny bullshit and someone needs to tell Aziz Ansari he ISN’T FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • kyriacos

Ok, the positive thing which can be taken out of these results is the fact that Mtv audience is mainly women, so at least we will never run out of strumpets.

    Good Job MTV.

  • Kamen Liew
