The tagline is a play on words of “Big is the new black” a common saying among fat people who feel their weight is a cause for unfair discrimination against them.

It amazingly insults black, fat and ‘normal’ people at once. While your race is something that you can’t, and shouldn’t have to change, an attraction towards macdonald’s is a mere lifestyle choice. Only a tiny fraction of obesity is caused by genuine medical problems.

The sense of ‘hunger’ a fat American feels if he doesn’t have his 12,000 calories of grease and sugar is not the same hunger which millions of people around the world actually have right now. And to compare fat-discrimination to the centuries of violent racism that black people have endured is a massive cop-out.

The entire first half of this trailer before the storm hits suggests itself as another one of them by-the-numbers rom-com about a loser trying to get the girl’s attention and getting respect what-not.

The second half is a fantasy movie. Played for laughs.

Seems like there’s 2 sides to this movie.
