Rob Zombie Contemplating The Devil’s Rejects 2?

The debate rages on over whether or not Rob Zombie is a talented filmmaker with his own unique vision, or if he is just a wanna-be regurgitating a mash-up of his favourite films on screen. Either way, the man continues to get plenty of work offered to him, and after returning from his most recent musical tour with Alice Cooper, he is now trying to decide what he should focus on next. A new poll on his official blog is asking fans what movie they would like to see him direct, and although a couple of the proposed choices have been previously announced, there are also a few surprises on there as well.

Last summer it was announced that Zombie had signed on to direct a remake of The Blob, and it seemed like this would definitely be his next film. However, this is only one of the options listed on the poll. The other possibilities are: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Werewolf Women of the SS, and The Devil’s Rejects Pt. 2.

T. Rex is a previously announced project based on his comic book The Nail, about a semi-pro wrestler who is being chased by a Satanic biker gang. Werewolf Women of the SS, on the other hand, would be based on his faux trailer starring Nicolas Cage that played with Grindhouse. This is the first I have heard of it being turned into a feature, but it seems that Robert Rodriguez’ Machete may have inspired him to do more with it.

The biggest surprise, however, is the fact that he is thinking about a sequel to The Devil’s Rejects, which is probably his most highly regarded film to date. Some people love it and some hate it, but one thing’s for sure: it is a movie that seemed to have a pretty definitive conclusion. Which of these projects (if any) would you like to see Rob Zombie direct next?

    For the house of a thousand corpses trilogy. Dreams are to cleshay. Ideas 1. Dr. Satan bringing them back is a good idea. 2. Wasn’t the mom a whore? If so there is a possibility for some fucked up children. 3. copycats, but that could end up pretty lame. 4. Begins with the end of the second movie. The police go and check the bodies after the shoot out. A hand pops up and grabs one of the cops, then roll opening credits. That’s all the ideas i have. Yet, if Rob Zombie did continue with it it is doubtful that he would want to go with our ideas because he would want to shock us.

    Ever sence I first seen the house of a 1000 corpses movies I have pictured them dancing and partying in the desert. In the daytime, around a lot of people. At night, around a bunch of impaled heads and few people running away screaming just before they are rundown and butchered. Its a recurring dream that keeps growing larger. Almost as good as my end of the world dreams.

  • As long as it’s done in the same kick ass way he made the other two. I’m all for either idea.. Pre and SE-quel lol.. I’m sure he can brainstorm an idea believable enough for us to be watching those characters we’ve grown to love again.. In present day.. I do think some character development in a prequel would be more interesting to watch though….

    the sequel should pick up where it left off . something like Otis and the gang killing off the cops and being injured smashing through the cars. close to death but not dead.. then somehow being spared maybe by tiny. I dunno. then going on a cross country rampage of sorts in a drug driven rock n roll slaughterhouse frenzy. just a thought I’m not a director.

    I think he should definitely make a devils rejects 2! They couldve just wrecked through the police cars and lived. There IS an opening rob. Take it;)

    Make it please!!!! Do a prequel or sequel whatever works one of the best horror franchises of today! Too many remakes and relying on CGI special effects. Please make it after your done with Lords Of Salem! Next to the Evil Dead it will be one of the best trilogy horror franchises ever in my opinion! Good Luck Mr. Zombie!!!

    Yes Please make the sequal to the Devil’s Rejects…it could pick up right as they bust on through that road block – cue the music.

    I love both movies and would LOVE to see at least one more made! I think that the end of Rejects could be altered slightly allowing our ghoulish heroes to escape…The beginning of movie 3 called, “Doctors Orders” would show them surviving because of having on flesh colored kevlar vests, heck Otis could have make those easy!

    They are hospitalized and then escape while picking up Doctor Satan and of course Spaulding…They then show up in small towns as a traveling Halloween show and haunted house! I could write some good scripts for Rob to check out? We would do good to get Karen Black back to this…Who’s ready and “who’s yo daddy”? :)

    Please make a movie about the Unholy Two. They didn’t get killed in the Devil’s Rejects. Danny Trejo kick ass in every movie he makes and Diamond Dallas Page was cool in the part he did. Love to see a movie about those two bikers.

    A prequel would be PERFECT!!!! The options to make another Devils Rejects are unlimited, so many ways to write it in!!     I reckon it would be awesome to see a movie on how the devils rejects and house of 1000 corpses started the history and reasons why it would be an awesome story to tell

    Well, if their was going to be a sequel, the movie would have to either have the Fireflys escape the police some how, or do something really surreal, like the Fireflys in hell (that would be awesome by the way). Other than those two reasons, I don’t really see how a sequel would be possible, seeing how Dr.Satan is in captured by the police, and is basically bed ridden (deleted scene), and all of the family is dead by the end, (even Tiny and Grandpa, as you see Tiny go in the burning house in the end of Rejects; and Granpa was like 80 in House of 1000 Corpses, and especially with the way him and the family were living, their is little to no chance of him being alive). So, a prequel would probably be the best choice. It could be about Baby and Otis’s killing spree while they were away from the family, (explained in the wiki), or it could be about how how Otis joined the family in the first place, or even hell, it could just be all about Dr.Satan. The possibilities are endless! Anyway if any other movie about the Fireflys were to be made, I just hope it’t handled with care, and has as much effort put into it Corpses and Rejects.

    I actually am in the process of writing an alternate story to the Devils Rejects,in my version they all survive,but it’s a twist,I’m really hoping to send it in to Rob when I’m finished with it. But another Rejects would be pretty gd awseome. What made me a fan of house of 1000 corpses,and Rejects is captain Spaulding. Spaulding,in my opinion, is what keeps the movie alive. I tell my friends all the time, these are some pretty bad- ass characters that you can realllllly get hooked to.

    Devils rejects 2 deffinetly needs to made that and house of 1000 corpses are my two all time favorite movie I would see that movie in the theaters five or six times and then get the DVD the day it came out I saw his other 2 at least four times be for they came to DVD.. Rejects 2 all the way… Please make another movie with my family of killers they were absolutly amazing master peices please continue with them love all the actors and how they were put together

    Rob Zombie needs to do a third film in the Captain Spaulding trilogy where Dr. Satan brings Cutter, Otis and Baby back from the dead as crazed (Rob) zombie killers!

    We need a 1000 Corpses prequel TV series starring Dr Satan during his residency and ending with the events of the beginning of House of 1000 Corpses. And Sheriff Wydell and his brother have to be in it. If they can make a brilliant TV show out of From Dusk To Dawn they could do an awesome one with this one too.
