The casting process for Scream 4 is now underway, and it looks like we may have more than a few interesting people taking over as the next generation of Ghostface victims. According to the Heat Vision Blog, Lake Bell (It’s Complicated) is the first new actress to officially enter into negotiations for the film. She will potentially play a police officer who knew Neve Campbell’s character Sidney in high school. However, offers have also been made to a few other, more recognizable names as well.

Those names include Ashley Greene (Twilight), Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) and Rory Culkin (Signs, Igby Goes Down). The proposed cast would find Greene in the starring role as Sidney’s cousin Jill, with Panettiere playing her geeky best friend. Culkin would play the love interest. While I’m sure Panettiere would be the selling point for most, it is my personal belief that just about any movie can be improved by adding a Culkin connection. Apparently the script for Scream 4 is being kept on top secret lockdown and none of the potential cast members have access to it before signing on. Because you know, everyone is just dying to get their hands on some Scream 4 spoilers… right? Uh, yeah. Either way, what do you think about these casting choices?
