J.J. Abrams’ Undercovers Promo Trailer

With Lost set to wrap up this weekend, you may be desperately wondering where and when you’ll be able to get your next J.J. Abrams fix. Of course, there’s always Fringe, but if that’s not your cup of tea, you’re still in luck, because Abrams is bringing another new show to NBC this fall called Undercovers. The thing is, it really has very little in common with Lost. It’s much more along the lines of his previous show Alias… with a little bit of Mr. and Mrs. Smith thrown in for good measure.
The series revolves around a husband and wife played by Boris Kodjoe (Surrogates) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (MI-5) who are retired C.I.A. agents that get called back to action. It’s a spy thriller with a comedic vibe to it, and Abrams describes the story lines as being “more personal based and character based.” He directed the pilot himself (the last pilot he directed was for Lost back in 2004), and with all the networks announcing their fall line-ups this week, the first preview of the show has arrived online. What do you think, is this something you plan on checking out? Starting in September, Undercovers will air Wednesdays at 8 pm EST; check out the promo after the jump.
