Easy A Trailer Starring Emma Stone

easyatrailer

Emma Stone, best known for her roles in Superbad and Zombieland, is starring in another potentially edgy teen comedy that seems to fall somewhere between Mean Girls and Clueless. She plays Olive Penderghast, a girl who pretends to help a guy friend lose his virginity, only to have the entire school demonize her for it. At the same time, she is studying The Scarlet Letter in English class and upon seeing the parallels between herself and the book’s main character, she decides to proudly wear a red letter “A” on her clothing. Thus, the film’s title, Easy A.

Director Will Gluck previously did the male cheerleader comedy Fired Up! and was a writer on The Loop, which doesn’t mean much to me. However, the supporting cast is pretty impressive, with Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson playing Olive’s parents, and Thomas Haden Church, Malcolm McDowell, Lisa Kudrow, Amanda Bynes and Cam Gigandet also co-starring. Not all of Emma Stone’s career choices have been great (ahem… The House Bunny and The Rocker), but she does have a certain quality reminiscent of Lindsay Lohan that makes her seem right for this role. What do you think, could this movie be smarter than your average teen comedy? Easy A hits theatres on September 17th; check out the trailer after the jump.

  • This looks like a film which had good ideas and a good script but went bad when in production.

I’ll check this out, being a teen I still have an interest in teen movies and I like Emma Stone (hell I even really enjoyed The House Bunny) and the idea looks fun, it will probably be an easy watch.

  • Emma Stone is good in everything she does, I expect big things from her.

Is it just me or does Emma Stone looks and sound 10 years older than what she actually is. I find it distracting when shes playing a teenager when she could be pulling off roles far older that her current age. Just saying.
