Robert Rodriguez’ Machete Trailer

macheteillegaltrailer

Happy Cinco de Mayo folks! In honour of this Mexican holiday, Robert Rodriguez has unveiled a special trailer for his upcoming film Machete (which he is co-directing with Ethan Maniquis) over on Ain’t It Cool News. Now I know what you’re thinking… you’ve already seen a trailer for Machete, right? Well not like this you haven’t!

The trailer is introduced by Danny Trejo as a special message to Arizona (referring to their recently introduced immigration law), and it goes on to set up Machete getting double-crossed and then seeking revenge. With appearances from Robert DeNiro, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Lindsay Lohan and Don Johnson, this is shaping up to be quite the cast. The only question is, does Machete make a better trailer than feature-length film? Find out when it hits theatres on September 3rd. In the meantime, soak up this glorious and gritty new trailer after the jump!

Glad to see they kept it within the spirit of the Grindhouse trailer. This will get some good ink with the whole Arizona thing happening, but that won’t necessarily translate to the box office. I hope it opens wide though.

  • as much as I hate Rodriguez and his lousy third acts, this might be a fun night at the ol’cinema. it sort of gets back to his El mariachi roots and is obviously in his wheelhouse; Mexicans and a exploitation send-up!

  • A Spincter Says What…!?!?!

    WIN!

  • Napalm

    Dopeness! Just what i expected.

  • Kamen Liew

“We didn’t crossed the border, the border CROSSED us!”

Best fucking line in the trailer.

  • Somnium

“They just Fu**** with the wrong Mexican!” I love it!

  • That hospital scene where the dude drops the flowers, bad ass!

  • Phil

This looks awesome, and I think it’s about time there’s a movie about some bad-ass Mexicans getting some respect

I wouldn’t be surprized if this becomes a huge movie, with strong support from a lot of people in the states

now, is it too early to have a Black Dynamite / Machete crossover film?

  • Mike

i just realized that this is my number 1 most anticipated movie of the year.

    STILL MORE pointless, chain-pulling, libelous,
cokeheade circle-jerk slop even as 72 headless
Mexican bodies are discovered on THAT side of
    the border —

MEANWHILE, having made BILLIONS catering to the
franchise slum denial needs of history’s –MOST–
awesomely genocidal regime ACROSS the Pacific
    –Hollywood, AGAIN, ‘mysteriously overlooks’
BOTH the 20th anniversary of the Tiennamen Massacre
AND the staggeringly important 60th anniversary
of the KOREAN WAR —this year.

FURTHER —we wonder just how much underpaid,
    unserviced, untaxed illegal labor the
LONG RICH DeNiro is himself ‘using’ to
operate his Tribeca Grill these past 20 years??

    LOL
