Monday Morning Box Office Report: Cash of the Titans

Despite all the concerns about the poor 3-D conversion for Clash of the Titans, it appears to have paid off for Warner Brothers, who set a new Easter weekend record with a massive $61.4 million take. It’s also the second highest April opening of all time, behind last year’s Fast & Furious. As long as moviegoing audiences remain uneducated about the difference in quality for 3-D added in post-production, I think we can expect studios to continue to go for the quick buck. Meanwhile, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too? just barely edged out How to Train Your Dragon for the #2 spot, and The Last Song and Alice in Wonderland rounded out the top 5.
1. Clash of the Titans — $61.4M
2. Why Did I Get Married Too? — $30.1M

5. Alice in Wonderland — $8.27M
