Well, you probably didn’t expect it and you certainly didn’t ask for it, but it looks like Look Who’s Talking is going to be the next ’80s flick to board the remake train. I’m talking about the 1989 comedy directed by Amy Heckerling and starring John Travolta and Kirstie Alley as a young couple who have their first baby together, with the baby’s thoughts being spoken to the audience by none other than Bruce Willis. The movie spawned two sequels, the second of which involved talking pets instead.
Pajiba reports that the update is being produced by Neal Moritz (The Fast and the Furious), and that there is no director or writer assigned as of yet. On a related note, there is also a movie in development over at Fox starring the talking babies from the popular E*trade TV commercials. No, seriously. It’s being written by Katie Dippold (Parks and Recreation) as we speak. I think it’s safe to say that talking babies are coming back in a big way… have we all forgotten about Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 already?
