Official Trailer for Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables Starring Jason Statham and Jet Li
Although an early promo reel has been floating around online since last year, we hadn’t seen an official trailer for Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables until today. Yahoo! just released the first full trailer and it looks exactly like you’d expect it to: dirty, sweaty, and full of muscled men. Stallone has assembled a pretty impressive cast of action stars for this flick including Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, and Danny Trejo plus cameos from Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Although I don’t fully understand what the story is about (something about overthrowing a South American dictator) and I’m a little worried that it could over-complicate things slightly, the trailer still looks like a lot of fun and a definite return to the days when action movies had a lot of explosions, real stunts, and no CG or bullet time. What do you think, will Sly deliver the goods, or is this just a failed attempt to relive his glory days? The Expendables hits theatres on August 13th; check out the trailer after the jump.
