The Hangover Cast Officially Signed On for the Sequel

Deadline Hollywood has reported that Warner Brothers has officially signed the main cast of The Hangover, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis, for the sequel which is scheduled for release Memorial Day Weekend next year. The deal will give each member five million dollars against 4% of the first dollar gross. Justin Bartha has also signed on, but his payment is unknown. Considering that he was nearly absent in the first movie and was unbearably annoying in the few scenes he got, he should be lucky he’s even invited to the second movie.

With the amount of money The Hangover made last summer, not to mention the great reviews, it would have been dumb not to lock in the main cast for the second movie. Couple this with it most likely being shot in 3D, and Hollywood may have a gigantic hit on their hands. The question is… can they capture lightning in the bottle twice?

I think Justin Bartha did great and his part was too small to judge how he will do in the sequel.

Sean talked about a new time travel movie from England, on the Hot tub time machine podcast.. What is it called ?

  • Paul just posted on the podcast thread reminding me that it’s called Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel.

    Here’s the trailer:

I like that The Hangover is so boring that the comments are not even really about it. I just don’t understand that this is what passes for funny these days? Really, it seemed like a mirthless exercise in tired douche dude comedy tropes. Though honestly I was busy making dinner after the first 30 minutes or so and didn’t really pay much attention to the rest of the movie something about Mike Tyson’s Tiger (Oh snap it’s Mike Tyson that’s funny?) and a tazer demo in a public school (hey kids and genital shocking it’s the juxtaposition that makes it go to for laughs). I’m no “intellectual” ironic hipster (maybe that means I am) but this movie was lame and I think the idea of a sequel in 3D means only one good thing … that maybe Zach will have some money and be able to work on some better projects with that security.
