    I don’t see any reason to automatically think this is bad. It’s not along the lines of anything he’s directed so far. The closest would be Hulk and I think he did a great job with that. I don’t know how much of his filmography is due to him being an “action director” vs. a “director who had so far done action movies.” It’s presumptuous to assume he couldn’t do it justice. Especially to the point of 8 no’s and 6 bads.

  • Yeah I’ve read most of the series, but I still haven’t read the last 8 issues or so. Not sure why… maybe I just don’t want it to end.

    I think the story has a lot of commentary about America and what it means to be a modern man in that country. I also think it has to do with women in America and the roles they’ve come to be expected to play. I”m sure that Leterrier would be a fine director visually, but I just get the feeling he maybe wouldn’t get the subtler aspects of the story right. Maybe I’m completely wrong here but he definitely hasn’t shown any indication that he can do subtle.
