New To Theatres This Weekend: Alice in Wonderland, Brooklyn’s Finest, The Secret of Kells

With no other studios eager to go up against the potential behemoth that is Alice in Wonderland, Overture decided to sneak in a wide release for Antoine Fuqua’s latest film Brooklyn’s Finest. (The movie originally premiered last year at Sundance, and you can read my review here.) The Oscar-nominated animated film The Secret of Kells is also getting a very small theatrical release, along with a little movie called Stolen that happens to star Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm. The question is, how well will Alice in Wonderland do? Can it repeat the massive success of Avatar thanks to the draw of Johnny Depp in 3-D?
