George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead Red Band Trailer

A short red band teaser trailer for George A. Romero’s next film Survival of the Dead has arrived online over at MySpace, as Magnet prepares to finally release it on VOD and in select theatres next month. I wasn’t a big fan of this flick when we saw it at TIFF last year (read my review here), but I have no doubt that there are plenty of Romero die-hards out there who will still fully embrace it.

The movie takes place on an island where two Irish families have been feuding for years. When the zombie outbreak spreads to their relatives, one family wants to save their loved ones, while the other shows no mercy. Strangely, Magnet are planning to release it on VOD, Xbox Live and Playstation and Amazon on April 30th, one month prior to the theatrical release on May 28th. Go figure.   • I love Romero and zombie films in general, I thought Diary of the Dead was decent, but this just looks like complete trash. I might check it out on VOD, but there is no way I’d be willing to pay money for it at a theater or on dvd.
