Thats how you know the flash is so underrated. I mean he's the best in DC comic at what he does and he's fatser than superman. But about the director, i'm all fine with him if he delivers on the movie. I mean if they were to get a director, get on that is an actual fan of the flash. Oh and if they were to get someone to pl;ay the flash, i think bradley cooper is a good choice. Since he lost out to ryan reynolds in the green lantern movie.

It's ashame that The Flash ushered in the Silver Age of comics, opening the door for superhero books and yet over time deteriorated into a laughable soap opera, which was killed in the late 80s. The sad trajectory is a sign of how DC got lost along the way. And only the recent interest in comic book movies has revivified an interest in relaunching The Flash.

By now there are so many peculiar origin stories you'd have to be an archivist to keep up. Or an alien from another dimension. Thus, any director is faced with the challenge of knowing where to begin unlike the Spider-Man movies, which mainly followed the storyline chronologically.

Warner Bros. would be best served by choosing a true visionary capable of handling the concepts of speed, scientific discoveries, and wondrous plots as opposed to someone aiming at the 12-25 group. CGI mastery is obligatory, not ancillary. The closer to James Cameron's eye the director has, the better off the studio will be in the long run. Instead, if they attempt to merely satiate the whims of the day they won't have a strong foundation to build on.

Watching the studio fumble around for the past few years I'd bet on the latter. After all, the DC legacy of the Flash is quite weak. Already the Green Lantern has 2 Chronicles out, a major film, an animated film, and a fair amount of PR. On the other hand, The Flash is getting overlooked and underappreciated. Hey DC, How come your Superman and Batman 1st issue Chronicles had over 200 pgs. and the Flash was only given 160? Why? Because you really haven't loved him. That's why. Because he's got more in common with Rodney Dangerfield than Superman. And that's just plain sad, especially since he helped build the house of DC for two solid decades.
