Weekly Poll Results: Best Judd Apatow Production

pollresultsapatow

Last week we took a look at Judd Apatow’s filmography and asked you to pick the best of the comedies that he has been involved in over the past decade. Despite the number of great choices on the poll, it was Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy that won fairly easily with over 25% of the votes. At this point I get the feeling that Anchorman would win just about any poll we throw at it, much to the annoyance of its detractors. In second place was the teen comedy classic Superbad, followed by Apatow’s directorial debut The 40-Year-Old Virgin. At the bottom of the poll we had Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (not a surprise, considering the box office numbers), and Talladega Nights which received only 1.2% of the votes. Is it really the worst of the bunch, or did all of its fans just vote for Anchorman instead?

1. Anchorman — 25.1%
2. Superbad — 17.5%
3. The 40-Year-Old Virgin — 14.9%
4. Knocked Up — 10.2%
5. Forgetting Sarah Marshall — 8.3%
6. Pineapple Express — 7.8%
7. Funny People — 7.6%
8. Step Brothers — 5%
9. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story — 2.6%
10. Talladega Nights — 1.2%

  • That seems about right to me. Although I’d probably swap Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Walk Hard.

Now, if you had included TV productions though, I think I would put Freaks and Geeks at the top of the list.

Voted for Anchorman. Sorry to see Walk Hard that low. Waiting for Rus to chime in and proclaim what a bunch of philistines everybody is for voting Anchorman best of anything.
