Anyone who didn’t rate Running Scared has ZERO right to comment on this list, period. The mere fact that respondents failed to acknowledge one of the great founding fathers of the buddy cop genre means that this list has about as much value as the wad of dog turds I scraped off my shoes the other day. Running Scared is the best cop film of all time. Deal with it or fuck off.

I am surprised that Running Scared (the 1986 one with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines) is not on the list – it preceded Lethal Weapon by one year, I think and fits the buddy cop formula more closely than Alien Nation or Red Heat. It’s also notable for having an actual funny performance from Billy Crystal before he got all City Slickers.
