Two major releases duke it out for different audiences this weekend, as the John Travolta action-thriller From Paris With Love goes up against the Channing Tatum / Amanda Seyfriend romantic drama Dear John. There is some speculation that Dear John could be the movie to finally take down Avatar due to the number of advance ticket sales, but I remain skeptical. In limited release, we have Adam Green’s ski lift thriller Frozen, the French parkour action sequel District B13: Ultimatum, and the British made-for-TV Red Riding Trilogy, plus Jackie Chan’s Shinjuku Incident. As if that wasn’t enough, Oscar-nominated films Crazy Heart and An Education are also expanding to a fairly large number of theatres. Are you planning on watching anything this weekend?
