Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever Trailer

cabinfever2releasedate

When Lionsgate first announced a sequel to Eli Roth’s Cabin Fever without the involvement of Eli Roth, my initial interest level was extremely low. It seemed like it would be just another direct-to-DVD horror flick that had no hope of living up to the original, something that would be instantly forgotten. But then somewhere along the way, they announced that it was being directed by Ti West, and after seeing his skill behind the camera in The House of the Devil, I started to get curious. However, the back and forth game continued as West came out and publicly disowned the movie, saying that Lionsgate recut the film without his approval. Would it ever see the light of day?

A DVD release date was finally revealed last week, and on top of this a trailer for the film was just released online which, if nothing else, looks ridiculously bloody. Since Ti West would not record a commentary track for the DVD, instead they recruited Mark Borchardt and Giuseppe Andrews to record one. Yes, that’s right, Mark Borchardt of American Movie fame stars in this movie! Giuseppe Andrews is one of the two original cast members to return for the sequel (the other being Rider Strong). So what do you think, does this movie still have potential, or was it a lost cause from the start? Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever hits stores on February 16th; check out the trailer after the jump.

ANOTHER high school prom horror film? Cabin Fever was fine, but this looks straight terrible. Being that the sequel is going direct to DVD, I probably wouldn’t have watched it even if it had a good trailer, but now I have absolutely no regrets.

Also, the lame graphic design work on those water bottles really bothers me.

  • The story behind this reminds me of James Cameron and Pirhana 2 :D There could still be some cool Ti West stuff in there, and Mark Borchardt will probably be funny, I’m interested and want to watch it.

This is ridiculous and I plan to watch it anyway.

From what I’ve heard in interviews, all Lionsgate did was change the ending and cut out all these really weird crappy transitional effects between the scenes, and that’s all, and from the sounds of it, they made it better.

  • there is nothing great about the first Fever (except for backwoods karate kid) so this can’t be any worse

  • Bratwurst

It’ll probably be shit, but may have a couple of good moments within.

I liked Cabin Fever, but a part two is just screaming “make-up on a pig”.

It’s this a comedy? The first kinda was.

  • Looks like absolute shit.

  • it is a fun film i saw it and there are times you have to look away … like nothing i have ever seen before but …. good.
