New To Theatres This Weekend: Brothers, Armored, Up in the Air

moviesdec4_09

All in all, it’s shaping up to be a pretty quiet December at the movie theatre (with the exception of Avatar and Sherlock Holmes, of course). Even the Oscar contenders seem to be in somewhat short supply, and they are all opening in a very small number of theatres. There are three major releases this weekend: Jim Sheridan’s Brothers, the heist flick Armored, and the bland Robert DeNiro holiday comedy Everybody’s Fine. Armored actually seems like it should be more of a January release, although it is directed by Nimrod Antal, who is also doing the upcoming Predators. The most noteworthy release of the weekend is Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air (which was just named Best Film of the Year by the National Board of Review). Unfortunately it’s only playing on 15 screens, and won’t go wide until December 25th. Are you planning on seeing anything this weekend?

This film is incredible…the trailer is misleading! I did not expect this film to be as well made after watching the trailer. It surpassed all of my expectations! A must see!
