I've heard that the graohic novel gets very mixed reviews; high marks for art, low marks for writing and plot.

I have to wonder if this short story, found on the web and apparently written in 2000, does better with the subject matter;

Found and read it at my county library. The world portayed is dangerous or more so than any "zombie" tale. Loss and death are well portayed but not graphicly. Imagine Just the humans being shrunk to 6 inches and how heavy and unwieldy that cell phone is after you crawl out of that circus tent that was todays outfit. Personally Think it would make a better TV series. Not to spoil it for those who haven't read the first one. Mystical or spiritual theme connects some "colorful" characters to our hero band of survivors. A "dark" faction is also alluded to but not defined. Haven't searched too seriously for these books but I'm considering it. Oh and more than domesticated animals threaten the survivors. I am well over 21 and find this quite interesting.

Sounds like a great project for Lawrence. Akiva Goldsman made a great choice by having Laura Harrington write the screenplay. My sources tell me it is pretty graphic - Darwinian concepts will be seen in a new light - can the species survive when we can be stalked by dogs, cats, and everything else we have domesticated? All of the technology we have created will fail us because we cannot use it. People we care about will die - and the external forces that brought this all about will have us where they want us.

Can't wait to see the film. It'll be a blockbuster.
