Jamie Foxx and Martin Lawrence Head Back to the ’90s with Sheneneh and Wanda

Oh no you di’n’t! I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but Jamie Foxx and Martin Lawrence are teaming up for a comedy that will mean absolutely nothing to anyone over the age of 15. The two actors have signed on to bring two of the most enduring characters from their stand-up comedy days to the big screen: Sheneneh and Wanda! You may remember Martin Lawrence cross-dressing to play Detroit ghetto girl Sheneneh Jenkins from time to time on his sitcom Martin, while Jamie Foxx’s flirtatious, cross-eyed Wanda was one of the more popular characters on In Living Color. Now the two of them will join forces in a feature film that is being fast-tracked by Screen Gems.

Apparently this whole thing came about because Foxx and Lawrence created a fake trailer for the BET Awards called “Skank Robbers” featuring the two women, and it was so popular that they decided to essentially make the movie for real. Jamie Foxx is writing the script, while he and Lawrence will co-produce together. I have to admit, this is the first Martin Lawrence movie in a long time that I might actually be interested in purely for the sake of nostalgia, and I’m impressed that Jamie Foxx doesn’t think he’s too good for this kind of thing anymore. There will be some who call it a bad career move, but it’s nice to see him not taking himself so seriously for once. What do you think, could this be so ridiculous that it might actually work? Check out the original BET trailer after the jump.

I for one can’t wait for this! The “Martin” show was the best things Martin Lawrence ever did and Sheneneh was one of the funnier characters in the program! It’s also good to see Jamie Foxx doing some off the wall comedy as well.

All in all these two characters go together as well as peanut butter and jelly, pure heaven!

  • Among the many diet and weight loss books published each year, this is one that provides a realistic and effective program for changing your thinking about eating and dieting. Some of the book is about feelings, some of the book is about goal setting, some of the book is about self management and some of the book is about eating itself. While there are questions to write about, it is not just a book of self awareness exercises. The book explains a viewpoint that frees you from old habits of thinking related to food as well as your feelings about yourself. The process described helps you examine the deeper reasons it is hard to regulate yourself in any area of your life.

  • The Master Cleanse is a modified juice fast developed by Stanley Borroughs more than 60 years ago. Burroughs’s booklet “The Master Cleanser,” which describes the fast is still in print, but lacks details and may leave the reader with more than a few unanswered questions. Peter Glickman, while searching for the means to reclaim his own health, discovered the Master Cleanse and did it for the first time in January of 2003. Glickman was so pleased with his results from the fast that he decided to add an electronic bulletin board to his raw food Web site to help spread the word about the Master Cleanse and to provide a forum where interested participants could share their experiences and ask those questions not answered by Burroughs’s book.

The positive response to the Master Cleanse bulletin board and the lack of details in Burroughs’s booklet led Glickman to write a more detailed book on the Master Cleanse titled “Lose Weight, Have More Energy
