Friends Movie Still On, According to… Gunther?

According to James Michael Tyler, who played the recurring role of Central Perk-owner Gunther on the TV series Friends, the movie re-uniting the star-studded cast of the half-hour comedy, is indeed more than just rumors due to Sex and the City performing extremely well at the box office. Friends: The Movie is the real deal… or so he claims, anyway.
“Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen. I am definitely on board to do the film. I really loved my time on the show and I am looking forward to meeting up with the old gang again. I just hope we can do justice to the show in a film.”
Last we heard, a script for the proposed film was being written, though there haven’t been any updates on it since it was rumored. Aside from Gunther, no one else has actually endorsed the movie except Jennifer Aniston, who back in December told People Magazine that she would love to make a Friends movie and even encouraged execs to get it all going before the cast got too old to reprise their roles. She quickly retracted that statement though, when she appeared on Ellen two months later, saying that she would never reprise the role of Rachel.
