Sin City 2 Shooting Next Year According to Clive Owen

Ever since Sin City hit theaters back in 2004 we’ve been hearing about the possibilities of a sequel but without anything ever materializing. However it is starting to seem like something might actually start moving forward. Back in May, the director of Sin City, Robert Rodriguez, said that filming on the sequel would begin next year. That wasn’t the first time he had said something like that though, and Rodriguez always seems to have more on his plate than he can finish, so it seemed sorta dodgy.
Now however, one of the stars of the ensemble cast, Clive Owen, is starting to talk up the sequel. Owen recently told MTV News that as far as he has heard — and what he has heard comes from a very trustworthy source, he adds — the movie will begin shooting next year. When asked who he got that information from, he wouldn’t name the source, but when asked if it was either Rodriguez or Frank Miller, Owen confirmed that it might be one of them.
So should Owen’s words be trusted, or is this just more Sin City 2 bullshit? It’s hard to tell, but as far as I know, Owen isn’t one to just blabber out things (unlike Rodriguez and Miller), so I choose to remain optimistic and take what he is saying for the truth. What do you think, will Sin City 2 start shooting next year, or is this just more empty promises about a project that will never happen?
