Weekly Poll Results: ’80s Cartoons That Should Be Movies

pollresults80scartoons

Last week’s poll was kind of a silly one, and to be honest, I was more interested in the outside suggestions that would crop up rather than the poll itself. The results are about what I expected, with Thundercats and He-Man being the two most popular ’80s cartoons on the list and also the two that people are most interested in seeing on the big screen. All of the shows in the Top 5 are already in development in some way, however I am pleased to see that I’m not the only M.A.S.K. fan out there. I honestly think it would make for the least ridiculous live action movie out of all of these choices.

1. Thundercats — 29.9%
2. He-Man — 18.1%
3. Voltron — 11.8%
4. The Smurfs — 10.6%
5. Robotech — 10%
6. M.A.S.K. — 9.1%
7. C.O.P.S. — 6.6%
8. Silverhawks — 2.1%
9. Inhumanoids — 1.5%
10. Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers — 0.3%

A good Galaxy Rangers Movie would also be not that ridiculous.

Ahhh, now I remember what M.A.S.K. was. A friend of mine had the semi-truck toy. That would make a pretty cool movie.

Well … Masters of the Universe is flawless so I don’t get number 2 at all. The question for Robotech is if they mean SDF: Macross (part 1 to the anime fans) OR the whole 3 show amalgamation from Harmony Gold? Either way my vote has not changed Voltron all the way. Robot lions! More people need to be behind this idea.

  • Didn’t they already make a He-Man movie? Which was terrible?

  • Bas

Wow, that’s a gay Thundercats picture. Not that there’s anyhting wrong with that… :)

  • Thundercats Is Classic my chilldhoods favourite cartoon oww wht days
