Entourage Season 6 Promo

entourageseason6promo

This Sunday, Entourage finally returns to HBO and fortunately, Vinnie and the boys have been away just long enough that I’ve forgotten my former disillusionment with the show and I’m starting to get excited again. To be fair, I don’t think Season 5 was terrible; they did try to introduce some interesting new conflicts and problems, even if none of them were really all that permanent. The tagline for the sixth season is “Life Changes. Friends Don’t.”, which seems rather appropriate.

I don’t really understand when people criticize the show for having everything work out all the time. This is not supposed to be a serious drama, it’s a feel-good half-hour comedy… the show is more fun when it all works out. The times that they do try to get too serious are when things go off the rails a bit. I just think they need to find a way to keep it light while also keeping it unpredictable. Either way, you can bet I’ll be tuning in on Sunday, even if Variety says the new season “adds up to more snooze than snap”. Check out the new promo for Season 6 after the jump. Are you still watching Entourage or are you tired of the same old same old?

I actually liked season 5 much better than the overly sitcomy season 4. A lot o the Turtle/Drama subplots felt forced and predictable there, and I was sick to death of Medillian.

I also liked seeing Vince actually on set last year for “Smokejumpers” or whatever.

I guess for some reason the dramatic stuff plays better for me. I think season 2 had the best mix of comedy and drama, though.

Looking forward to Sunday for sure.

  • last season was great and the director / Vince blow-up on the set of SmokeJumpers was one of the best episodes of TV last year. hope they start the new season with the boys on the set with Scorsese!

  • oh, just watch the trailer, looks like they are skipping the filming of The Great Gatsby – F*CK!

That’d be awesome, Rus, but I’m pretty sure the first episode is going to be after production or at the premiere a la seasons 1, 2, and 3.

  • that’s a shame, I love when Martin gets in front of camera and does his hyper director stream of conscious bit. He was great in Albert Brook’s Muse!

    The scene would write itself:

Martin on set of Gatsby talking a mile a minute.

Vince, E, and Drama going WTF

A really high Turtle going, “Yo, I get it!”

There was an awesome subplot in the third season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” where Larry David was in a Scorsese film.

  • I loved season 5 as much as all the others. I’ll be watching. The feel of living behind-the-scenes is too good. Entourage is an unusual show in that it thrives on having the characters in a constant state of living the high life with almost no negative consequences.

I appreciate the show on more levels I think than I should. As a movie maker guy myself all the behind the scenes type stuff is something I enjoy (one of the reasons I also enjoyed the Billy Mays reality show Pitchmen). I also, enjoy seeing D-bags win and seeing them lose too. I’d say that the last 2 seasons or maybe just the last one had them lose a few times. Cannes was an embarassment and the fiasco with the wildland firefighter movie was a big lose too. Sofar I’m still on board. I think with shows like this you don’t watch for the mains you watch for the supporting cast which are often more interesting.

  • I thought last season was very good.

  • I love this show and I’m really looking forward to this season, may the show last for many more!

  • Entourage is the one show which I can always rely on to be a pure half hour of entertainment. No not the exotic drama I may tune into some nights but this is a show which has never let me down.

I have already been waiting for months.
