Zombieland Trailer Starring Woody Harrelson

Hey remember a few months ago when Woody Harrelson attacked a TMZ photographer and claimed he thought he was a zombie? It’s because he had just finished shooting this movie: Ruben Fleischer’s Zombieland. The first trailer has just hit the web, and if you’re sick of zombies, well, you’re probably going to hate this!

The thing that sets Zombieland apart, I suppose, is that it is a dark comedy somewhat in the vein of Shaun of the Dead or Fido. The cast also includes Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale, Adventureland), Emma Stone (Superbad, The Rocker) and Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), and (apparently) Bill Murray as a zombie? Consider me intrigued. I liked the humour in the trailer, but for the most part it was just a lot of shooting zombies. It’s still kind of hard to tell what it’s all about. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick previously worked as writers for the The Joe Schmo Show, which doesn’t really make things any clearer. Check out the trailer below and see what you think; Zombieland hits theatres on October 9th.

I’ll give it a chance as I’ve been a fan of his music videos for years. Also, was that Mike White on the toilet?

How can anyone be sick of zombies? It’s not like the genre has been saturated like all of the vampire rubbish. This looks hilarious, and I’m looking forward to it. I only wish we’d get some Romero-ish slow zombie horror stuff. I hope World War Z is as good as the book.

  • I’m halfway through World War Z….betting they’ll try a District 9 dealio with that film. We need more attempts to make horror horrifying and WWZ could work out that way. Zomcoms are way too easy. I’m hoping people keep trying to make zombies scary every now and then.

  • Question: Why does he have a donut on the baseball bat??? Is he warming up???

Statement: I think Woody would be fantastic in a zombie-dark-comedy… He’s great at playing these sort of every day Joe characters who are just a little too wierd/paranoid for their own good… Throw in a Bill Murray zombie and a baseball bat and you got a homerun! (see what I did there? Baseball/homerun? I’m priceless).
