Scott Pilgrim vs The World Movie Poster from Licensing International Expo

Alright, I have a confession to make: I didn’t start reading Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim series until just a few weeks ago. Prior to that, I didn’t know much about it other than what I heard about the movie, but all the hype finally piqued my curiosity enough to check it out. To my surprise, there is almost nothing in the comics that I don’t like. I was worried it might be a little too cute (and it is) but between the video game references, the Toronto references, the indie rock scene references, and the off-beat humour, it is pretty much tailor-made for me. I am hooked.
So yeah… I guess you can now count me among the masses of people really looking forward to this film. I don’t think there is anyone better to direct it than Edgar Wright either. An early promo poster for the movie has just turned up online from the Licensing International Expo, illustrated by Bryan Lee O’Malley himself… and it looks awesome. I doubt the final posters for the film will actually feature artwork rather than shots of the actors, but still, we can hope right? Scott Pilgrim vs The World stars Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans, Brandon Routh, Kieran Culkin and Jason Schwartzman (among others). It hits theatres sometime in 2010. Are you excited too?
