Tuesday Afternoon Box Office Report: Star Trek Is Not Bigger Than Jesus

Hey guys, I’m back from my long weekend and just trying to get caught up on some of the news that I missed. I wasn’t surprised to hear that Ron Howard’s Angels & Demons took the top spot at the box office over the weekend, however, it just barely eeked out a win over Star Trek in its second week. Word of mouth is clearly strong for Trek (and not so much for A&D), but let’s face it, there was no way it was going to beat The Da Vinci Code‘s $77.1 million opening even if it did have a little more action in it. Will Star Trek keep going strong as we look ahead to Terminator Salvation and Night at the Museum 2 next weekend?
