Four More Possible Directors Named for Conan Reboot

CON001BX

A couple of days ago, we reported on the news that V For Vendetta director James McTeigue is a strong possibility to direct the new Conan movie in place of Brett Ratner. While he continues to be in the running, there have been some developments in the story since then, with a handful of other directors revealed on the short list as well.

According to CHUD, there are three other candidates in the running right now. And they are:

  • Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Silent Hill)
  • Neil Marshall (Doomsday, The Descent)
  • Marcus Nispel (Friday the 13th, Pathfinder)

Out of those three, I think Neil Marshall would be my favourite, but probably any of them could work. Now, late yesterday Latino Review added one more name to the list, someone who they claim to be the number one choice: Phil Joanou (State of Grace, Gridiron Gang). They seem pretty excited about the choice, but I can’t say I’ve seen any of his films. He certainly wouldn’t have any of the geek appeal that some of the other choices might have. I’m sure we’ll probably have an official announcement on this story very soon, but in the meantime, which one of these four directors (or five including McTeigue) would you like to see take on Conan?

  • Paul Andrews

Purely on the films listed here I hope its Marshall. Doomsday and Descent were both very good; Silent Hill and Pathfinder were both pants.
