Film Junk Poll: Which Summer Blockbuster Will Reign Supreme?

pollsummerblockbuster09

Blockbuster season kicks off tomorrow with the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and it looks like we’re in for another summer of massive hits. There are a lot of unknowns out there though, with movies like Star Trek and Judd Apatow’s Funny People having the potential to be huge, but as of yet, still unproven. What movie do you think will be the biggest success of the summer? Aside from the choices on the poll, are there others that might be surprise hits? Where do comedies like The Hangover Year One, and Bruno fit in… and what about Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds? Cast your vote and then feel free to discuss your more detailed predictions in the comments below.

i think Star Trek and Terminator will be the best but Transformers and Harry Potter will earn the most money despite being crap..

  • what! no Bruno or Sacha Baron Cohen again! Seriously Sean you need to talk to someone about your ingrained hatred for this man. Of course we could get a two for one therapy session were I also discuss my man love for him.

  • Hey I love Sacha Baron Cohen, I just don’t think Bruno will be one of the biggest box office hits of the year. Borat was the #16 movie for 2006, and I don’t think Bruno will even make as much money as that. Still pretty psyched for it though.

  • yes, but you did include Funny People….hmmmm sounds like time for a wager? which will make more Bruno or Funny People, anyone, anyone?

  • Joe

I really think Angels and Deamon’s will be huge this summer, using the ol’ Tom Hanks = $$$ formula.

  • Borat Worldwide: $261,572,744

    Knocked Up Worldwide: $219,076,518

    I win!

  • Ah yes… BUT… Funny People stars Adam Sandler. Okay, but Sandler’s movies still don’t top Borat. You still win!

  • I have no doubt it will be Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen.

    1. HARRY POTTER
    2. TRANSFORMERS
    3. STAR TREK /TERMINATOR
    4. ICE AGE 3/ANGEL AND DEAMONDS
And who really gives a shit about the others?

  • Hannes

I saw Angels and Demons last Saturday and its even worse than the Da Vinci Code. F-ing shit

  • That’s a tough poll. I’m going with Terminator though.

  • uuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh … where’s G-Force? Nicolas Cage is guaranteed boffo box office, even when he’s playing a guinea pig.

but seriously, yeah, transformers will unfortunately probably win this …

  • It will be the porno:
Transgender 2: Rise and Start Ballin

I voted with my brain and not with my heart. Though my brain doesn’t like the foregone conclusion much.

I voted for Harry Potter even though I’m not terribly excited to see it. The movie I’m looking forward to the most is Inglourious Basterds.
