One of the highest-profile documentaries playing at the Hot Docs film festival in Toronto next week is Kirby Dick’s Outrage. It was already picked up by Magnolia Pictures and had its world premiere at Tribeca, and the buzz continues to build. You may know Kirby Dick as the hard-hitting filmmaker behind Twist of Faith and This Film is Not Yet Rated, and once again he appears to be going for the jugular here.

Outrage aims to expose high-ranking politicians in the U.S. who actively campaign against gay rights, despite the fact that they are actually gay themselves. In addition to investigating the secrets that these people keep, it also examines the psychology behind their double lives, the media’s responsibility to out them, and the damage that they are doing to America. It’s sure to be controversial and shocking, although whether or not it will all make for a compelling film remains to be seen. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.
