Will Ferrell to Guest Star on Man vs Wild

This is pretty awesome. As part of a promotional campaign for his upcoming summer comedy Land of the Lost, Will Ferrell will be joining survival expert Bear Grylls for a walk on the wild side in an episode of the Discovery Channel series Man vs Wild. The duo travel to northern Sweden for 48 hours where they rapel down hundred-foot frozen waterfalls, brave sub-zero temperatures, drink their own urine and eat reindeer eyeballs together. Seriously.

Will Ferrell called the experience “a thrill of a lifetime, even though I did get urine-drunk, which is sad.” I do enjoy the odd episode of Man vs Wild from time to time, so you can bet I’ll be tuning in for this. I like to think of it as the over the top, big budget version of the Canadian show Survivorman. Whether or not it will actually help boost exposure for Land of the Lost remains to be seen, but I’m just hoping Will Ferrell gets a chance to show off his bear wrestling skills… no pun intended. (Did you hear that the bear from Semi-Pro attacked and killed its trainer last year? Crazy.) No word on the exact date that Ferrell’s Man vs Wild episode will air, but I will update this post when it is announced.

  • I’d definitely rather see this happen with Les Stroud– the (Canadien) Survivorman.

  • Jeff

Survivorman is a one-hour show about a guy who goes outside and complains about how he has to carry his own camera gear around and doesn’t have a film crew.

  • David

I as a very interested person on man vs wild i would much rather someone like Bear Grylls, He shows exelent ways to get out of the most stranded places on the earth.

  • Greg

The problem with Bear Grylls is that he needs a guide to tell him how to survive. Plus, if you were actually out in the wilderness trying to survive, you wouldnt have the energy to do half the things he does. like climb up ice cliffs and such. Although it should be pretty interesting to see Will Ferrell out there.

i can’t wait for this episode! its gonna be epic!
