/Film has posted some photos from the set of Sly Stallone’s ‘The Expendables’, and all I have to say is…HAAVVEE MEERRCCYYYY!!!! Seriously, that’s a sweet f’ing plane-tail-wing-flap. The graphic image of the crow/raven bird sitting atop a globe is probably the best news I’ve seen regarding this film. Even better, Stallone recently shed some light on the tone of the movie in an interview with Collider:

“It’s a 1980s movie with today’s technology,” Stallone told Collider. “But in those days, the female leading character was a helpless girl, waiting to be rescued by the hero. Now we have a very strong female character that evolved to this form while I was writing the script. But except for this, yes, it’s a 1980s movie.”

Even though I think today’s technology sucks on film, I’m completely hopeful that The Expendables will deliver. I’ve recently begun going through the A-Team, so this news has hit me at the right time. I’m ready for vans driving off the end of piers and people hanging off of airplane landing gear. BRING IT STALLONE!
