New To Theatres This Weekend: Fast & Furious, Adventureland, Alien Trespass

It’s going to be tough for anyone to compete with the biggest and loudest movie opening this weekend, Fast & Furious, but does anyone actually care about the return of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker at this point? If, like me, you still haven’t seen a Fast and the Furious movie (and don’t care to), you should definitely check out Greg Mottola’s Adventureland, which is also in wide release (albeit on a lot less screens). In select theatres we have the ’50s sci-fi throwback Alien Trespass, the indie dramedy Gigantic starring Paul Dano and Zooey Deschanel, and the latest film from the makers of Half Nelson, the baseball drama Sugar. Are you planning on seeing any movies this weekend?

    I remember seeing the first Fast and Furious movie and thinking this is one of the worst pieces of crap I’ve seen. The acting is horrible and the action is really boring. Paul Walker is like the Jessica Alba of acting…looks good but cannot act of a paper bag. And Diesel is just one note all the way through. Is it any wonder why these two are back in the fast and furious franchise. Can anyone say career stall?

    Would like to see Adventureland and Sugar sounds interesting.
